This is a prototype sample and will change.

The Exploration Notebook keeps your game organized and easy to manage. It holds Location, Personality, Bandit, and other cards you unlock, each with new rules for Mining, Poker, and more. Think of it as a dynamic rulebook that evolves with your game!

French Edition Confirmed! + New Add-Ons, New Deluxe Content, and New Stretch Goals!

We're rolling into week three of the Western Legends Stories Kickstarter campaign, and we're thrilled to announce some exciting updates!

Add-Ons

You asked, and we listened! We've got some awesome new add-ons available:

• Sleeve Set: Protect your investment! We're offering a sleeve set for the entire Western Legends game (over 700 cards!). Tarot and mini card sleeves will be clear to show off those custom cardbacks. Poker-sized cards will have a mix of clear and custom sleeves for Poker, Exploration, Animal, Legacy, and Bandit cards.

• Poker Chip Upgrade: Elevate your game! Upgrade your 70 Skill, Cattle, Marshal, and Wanted tokens to hefty poker chips with that satisfying weight and clinking sound.
• Sleeves ($30 MSRP)

New Characters

Three new faces are joining the Western Legends posse:

• Eleanor Owens, Terrence Burton, and Bud Wago: These Automata characters are coming to life with their own miniatures and Character cards. Exclusively available in the Deluxe edition, they add even more immersion to your Automata games.
• The character art and minis are being worked on now. We'll post updates as soon as their files are ready.

Please note that the minis and character art are NOT required to play the Automata version, it just looks cooler.

French Edition Confirmed!

We've been blown away by the support for the French edition! You've spread the word and rallied the community – merci beaucoup!

To make this happen, we've partnered with local French stores who are stocking the Deluxe edition at the campaign price. This limited-time offer helps us reach our printing goals and makes the game accessible to French-speaking players.

Important Note: The French edition, including Deluxe items, is exclusive to this print run and won't be widely available afterward.

With this arrangement, we're now able to confirm that the French edition will be printed. I can't erase the text on the pledge that says "500 minimum" though, so please ignore that.

New Stretch Goals Unlocked!

We've busted through more stretch goals, and that means even more cool content:

• Canyon Stranger Encounter: A tense encounter with a language barrier in the wilderness. Will you find a way to communicate or resort to other means? This new mini helps bring another Personality to life.
• Morgan Horses: A new American breed of mount to tame and ride.
• Telegram Unique Item: A message delivered at the right time can change everything. Find this powerful item at Dickson's shop.

• New Critters: Raccoons, Porcupines, and Antelope are joining the hunt! Be careful out there, though; even the smallest critter can surprise you.

• New Injury Cards: Six new Injury cards add a new level of challenge and consequence to the game. Avoid those injuries at all costs!

Players receive injuries whenever they reach the 3rd space on the health track. You'll draw a card from the deck which could be a simple case of Hearing Loss from a gunfight, or something far more serious like Blindness. Do your best to avoid these injuries and see a Doc if you can.

Automatons and Water

Howdy everyone,

We've got some exciting news! Thanks to your amazing support and feedback, we've updated the social stretch goals:

Automata Decks Included!

• The Automata decks are now included in all retail pledges (they were already included in the Deluxe pledge). This is addition is limited to the Kickstarter, so don't miss out!
• Important: If you added the Automata deck as an add-on, please remove it from your pledge. We'll do our best to catch everyone after the campaign, but it would really help us out if you could adjust your pledge now.

Map Upgrade & Sleeve Update

• The Map Gets Even Better: We're adding spot UV to the water sections of the map for ALL pledges. That beautiful river is going to look even more stunning!
• Sleeve Update: After reviewing feedback, we've decided to cancel the sleeve. This helps offset the cost of the new additions.

New Stretch Goals

Stuart Keeper

Guarding a bank ain't easy work, especially when the law this far out is a joke. But the pays good, and the folk seem honest enough so long as you keep your gun in sight.  As long as no gang or something gets any ideas it'll be fine.

A new mini is added to the roster, Stuart Keeper. Stuart isn't someone you want pointing a gun at you. If you keep your nose clean, you'll never have to worry about him.

Telegrams Incoming: 3 new Telegrams add more depth and replayability to your games. 

Whether you're a Wanted criminal, a lawman, or just minding your own business these Telegrams give you new goals and rewards.

Giddy Up with Spurs:

This unique item helps you cross the map faster than ever. But there's only one set available, so you better be quick!

Notorious Bandits on the Loose:

Watch out for Jill, Big Jak, and the Hanks Brothers – these new bandits are ready to rumble. Some NPC fights will now pit you against multiple opponents, adding a new challenge to the game.

Outlaws, Horses, and Hidden Treasures!

Howdy, partners!

Get ready for a rootin' tootin' update! Today's bounty includes cunning Bandits, trusty steeds, wild encounters, and a mysterious trader with rare treasures. Let's mosey on over and take a gander at what's new!

A big thank you to everyone who's been sharin' their thoughts and ideas. We're reading every suggestion and makin' changes based on your feedback. 

Bandits – Outlaws on the Loose

Life on the frontier ain't all sunshine and rainbows. Danger lurks around every bend, and sometimes the biggest threat comes from your fellow man. Outlaws are lookin' to make a quick buck, and they don't care who they have to step on to get it.

Take Timothy "Grandpa" Falk, for example. He's more of a grumpy ol' coot than a real threat. In fact, he's one of the few bandits that even a greenhorn can handle.

You won't run into bandits right away, but they'll be a thorn in your side soon enough. We've revamped the Bandit system from Western Legends, and it's now more dynamic than ever. A Bandit deck keeps things fresh, with a new outlaw revealed each time one's defeated. Each bandit has their own unique goals and challenges, so you'll need to adjust your strategy to match.

Before you go gunslingin', remember to check their combat die – from Green (easy) to Black (tough). Choose your battles wisely!

And here's the kicker: you can move Bandits, or any NPC, at the start of your turn! Use 'em to your advantage – block an opponent, or lure 'em into a trap. With the new Stories system, these NPCs are more unpredictable and lifelike than ever before.

Sam Dickson – The Reclusive Trader

Deep in the heart of the wilderness, you'll find Sam Dickson. This fella's a hermit who prefers the company of critters to people. But he does have a soft spot for shiny things... Dickson's got a stash of Unique items he's willin' to part with, if the price is right. You never know what treasures you'll find in his hidden shop!

Hunting Knife – A Unique Find

Unique items are back and better than ever! Keep your eyes peeled for special gear like the Hunting Knife. These one-of-a-kind items offer powerful advantages. With the Hunting Knife, you'll bring home more pelts from your hunts.

Fox Trotter – Your Trusty Steed

Looks like someone lost their horse! These Missouri Fox Trotters are known for their smooth gait and stamina. Saddle up and explore the frontier with your new four-legged friend!

Exploration Cards – Uncharted Territory

Get ready for even more surprises with a fresh batch of Exploration cards! Stumble upon a forgotten corpse, encounter a distraught widower, or find your path blocked by a fallen tree. The wilderness is full of unexpected twists and turns!

The momentum keeps building, and we're excited to share some of the Stretch Goals that are making this game even bigger and better.

Meet Juan, Your Friendly Wagon Driver

Remember Juan, the kind soul who brought you out to this wild territory? He's sticking around and offering his services as a transport! For a small fee, Juan will give you a lift across the map, saving you precious time and energy. This is especially helpful for those traveling on foot, who can usually only move one space at a time. With Juan's help, you can cover more ground and reach those exciting adventures faster.

Explore the Untamed Wilderness

Venture off the beaten path and discover hidden secrets with the new Exploration cards! These cards add a whole new layer of depth and excitement to the game. When you land on a space with a "?" symbol, you can choose to explore and encounter unexpected situations, from wild animal encounters and a mysterious fortune teller to a pack of stubborn mules. Be brave, be smart, and reap the rewards!

New Challenges and Rewards in the Hunt

Hunting in Western Legends Stories is a thrilling experience, but it just got even wilder! We've added new Animal cards to the mix, including rattlesnakes that can spook your mount and vultures circling overhead. But don't worry, there's also some easier prey like hares for those who prefer a less intense hunt. Remember, the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward!
